Sheldon Smith, 79, a longtime resident of Framingham passed away on Friday, November 11th, at home and with his loving family by his side just as he wanted it. Sheldon was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Hyman & Helen (Cohen) Smith.

Sheldon served in the NY Army National Guard, and worked as a road salesman for the Garment Center which landed him in Framingham.  He was the proud owner of Sheldon Jewelers since 1985, where he worked closely with his son Russell, his daughter and his granddaughter until recently.

He enjoyed golfing and going to the gym, and gardening.  Most important was time spent with his family. Sunday breakfast with his grandchildren, and special vacations.

Sheldon is survived by his daughter, Sophia McFadden Smith, his son, Russell Smith & his wife Dara, his grandchildren, Zaniel and Ella McFadden, and Sabella and Aviana Smith, his sister, Laura Smith, and many cousins in TX.

Family and friends will honor and remember Sheldon’s life by gathering for his funeral service on Monday November 20th in Temple Israel of Natick, 145 Hartford St. at 2pm. Interment will take place in MA National Cemetery, Bourne on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock.
