Framingham, MA – [September 26, 2023] – Open Spirit, is thrilled to unveil its exciting transformation of the beloved annual “Day of Spirit” into an inspiring year-round initiative. With the theme “The Creative Journey,” Open Spirit invites individuals from all walks of life to embark on a quest of self-expression, discovery, and connection on October 28th, from 1-4:00pm on the Open Spirit campus.
The inaugural event is titled “Creativity without Judgment.” Open Spirit welcomes everyone to participate in this experience, which promises to help us embrace creativity.
Event Highlights:
Opening Discussion: Embracing Creativity for Well-Being
Join us for a thought-provoking opening discussion that delves into the transformative power of creativity. Discover how shedding self-judgment can unlock the potential within your creative spirit. Together, we will shift our focus from the end result to the beautiful journey of the creative process.
Choose Your Creative Path:
Following the discussion, participants will have the opportunity to choose from three immersive workshops, each lasting an hour:
Engaging our Hearts in the Creative Process, led by Rosanne Kates: Embrace your senses as you create freely with flowers, witnessing creativity flourish as self-judgment falls away.
Creative Cooking with Pumpkins, led by Safiyat Hamiss of Tasty Harvests: Transform traditionally discarded pumpkin seeds and flesh into delectable treats and dishes. Learn to experiment in the kitchen, reduce waste, and amplify flavor.
Photography Workshop: Finding Beauty all Around Us, led by Fran Bogle: Experience the unexpected beauty that surrounds us. Utilize your senses and photography skills to see the world through a fresh lens. No prior experience required; this workshop will be held outdoors, weather permitting. Please bring camera or iphone.
Front Porch Open Mic & Refreshments
Following the workshops, join us for a heartwarming front porch open mic session. Share your creativity, stories, or simply revel in the diverse talents of fellow attendees. Light refreshments will be served as we celebrate our shared artistic journey.
