Francis P. Maier, Jr., 90, of Natick and formerly Mattapan, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023 after a period of declining health. Born in Boston the son of the late Francis & Edna (Meyer), he was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Fay) Maier.
Francis was raised and educated in Mattapan, and served his country proudly in the Navy during the Korean War. Upon his return, he began work as an auditor for Northeast Airlines which became Delta Airlines, with whom he enjoyed a 37 year career.
Francis loved watching the Bruins and the Red Sox, and watching over his neighborhood. Nothing brought him more happiness than watching his granddaughter and later his great granddaughter grow up. He dotted over them.
He will be missed dearly by his daughters, Joanne Carmichael & her husband Richard of Hudson, and Tricia Maier of Natick, his granddaughter, Kristin Raymond & her husband Robert of Westborough, his great granddaughter, Mackenzie Raymond, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his wife Dorothy, Francis was predeceased by his sisters, Edna Foley, Lorraine English, and Dorothy Young.

Family and friends will honor and remember Francis’ life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Sunday, June 11th from 2-6PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Bridget Church, 830 Worcester Rd. Framingham on Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Natick.
