FRAMINGHAM – Michael J. Nee, 40, of Milford, and formerly of Hopedale, Northborough, and Framingham, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

Michael was the beloved son of John Nee (Susan) and Anne Tolland (Stephen), and brother of Julie Nee, Kevin Nee (Karli) and Kelsey Guillen (Rey).  He was also a devoted uncle to Jack, Sam, Emma, Ava, and Aiden. 

Michael was known as a stand-out athlete while in school in Hopedale, excelling at basketball, baseball, and, his favorite sport, soccer.  

As an adult, he also excelled at golf. 

He graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in business, and most recently was employed at Bose Corporation. 

Michael loved children, and enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, playing sports with them, taking them fishing, or just hanging out.

Michael felt most at home when he was fishing.  He was an expert freshwater fisherman, winning the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife “Catch and Release” Angler of the Year award for four years in a row, from 2015 through 2018.  Even in wintertime, Michael could be found out on the pond ice-fishing. 

Michael will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. 

Family and friends will honor and remember Michael’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, April 7 from 4-7 p.m. A time of remembrance will begin at 6:30PM.  Interment will be private.
