ASHLAND – Earlier this year, long-time Select Board member Steve Mitchell announced he would not seek re-election in May.

Three individuals are now campaigning for a 3-year seat on the 5-member Select Board.

The deadline to submit papers for the May 16 Ashland election was last week.

On the ballot for Select Board are Claudia M. Bennett, Preston Fletcher Crow, and Pam V. Mimms.

For School Committee, Chair Laura B. Tosti is being challenged by Shaun E. Adamec for a 3-year seat.

There is also a race for two seats on the Board of Health. Incumbent Barbara Sekesogundu-Simon, Nkiruka Christine Agu, and David A. Kinsman will appear on the ballot.

Candidates have until April 13 to withdraw from the ballot, said Town Clerk Cindy Livingstone.

Incumbent Anna Tesmenitsky is the lone person running for a 5-year seat on the Ashland Planning Board

Incumbents Carolyn E. Bell and Elizabeth Wypler Rabinowitz are both seeking re-election to the Ashland Library Board of Trustees. There are no challengers for the 3-year seats.

Incumbent David G. Rosenblum is not being challenged for re-election as Assessor.

Election is Tuesday, May 16. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Ashland High.
