FRAMINGHAM – Framingham DPW fixed a water main break in the Coburnville-Tripoli Neighborhood on Tuesday night, March 21.

The break happened on McAlee Avenue, located south of Route 135.

Framingham DPW Director Bob Lewis personally went over to inspect the break.

There is a “flooded roadway,” said Lewis to SOURCE on Tuesday.

At 4:30 p.m., DPW Director Lewis said the repair would take 3 to 4 hours. It was completed in that time frame.

DPW Director Lewis said the 6-inch diameter main is from 1945, so it is more than 70 years old.

“There’s been at least 3 other breaks on the same section of pipe,” said Director Lewis to SOURCE Wednesday morning.

“We are looking to replace that pipe in the next couple of years,” said Lewis.
