NORTHBOROUGH – The Framingham State University baseball team was defeated 11-2 by Emerson College in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough.

Emerson College improves to 3-2 overall.

Framingham State is still seeking its first win and is 0-2.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Emerson grabbed the early lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning. 
  • The Rams tied the game with two in the top of the fourth. Dane Frellick singled to left with one out and Caleb Hendrix followed with an RBI double to right. James Gilleran then singled up the middle plating Hendrix. 
  • Emerson retook the lead with two in the bottom of the fourth and added two runs in the fifth and sixth, a single run in the seventh and two in the eighth to reach the final margin. 
  • Hendrix finished the game 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, while Frellick finished 1-for-3 with a run scored and a walk 
  • Gilleran started the game on the mound for the Rams and went three innings allowing two runs, one earned, on two hits with two strikeouts and two walks. 
  • Teaghin Andre tossed two innings of relief and took the loss allowing four earned runs on five hits.. 

UP NEXT:  The Rams are back in action on Sunday when they face Keene State for a pair of games in Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
