FRAMINGHAM _ Framingham High senior Sam Burgess will compete in the indoor track & field national championships today and Saturday.

The New Balance National indoor track & field championships are being held at the New Balance track in Boston this year.

Burgess, who was an All-American in Cross-Country in 2022, will compete in the 2-mile race today, March 10 at 3 p.m.

Tomorrow, Burgess will compete in the indoor 5K race at 3:30 p.m.

He is the only member of the Framingham High boys indoor track & field team who qualified for the national meet.

He won the race of champions but did not compete in the New England Championships.

There are several Framingham High girls athletes who qualified for nationals including sprinter Abby Desmaris, who finished third at the New England Championships in the 55-meter dash, and the Flyers 4X400 relay team who also finished third at the New England meet.

They will compete this weekend.
