Feudo and her Asian Student Association co-president Mia Homann organized Thursday night’s Multicultural night at Framingham High.

“This is my first year being the co-president of this club. I was a member of it since freshman year, and we just wanted to bring back a tradition that we did in elementary and middle school,” said Homann, who attended Stapleton Elementary.

The event featured food from Brazil, Italy, Philippines, India, South Korea, Israel, Germany, China, Japan, and more.

“There is lots of different food here tonight,” said Homann “The goal is to introduce culture to everyone we know. Framingham is very diverse ,and we wanted to give our Framingham High students the opportunity to showcase that.”

“We had it in elementary school and in middle school. And we figured, well, FHS is such a big school. There’s so many people, so we should try to get it here. too. So then we can introduce all the cultures of all these amazing people,” said Feudo, who attend Brophy Elementary and Fuller Middle schools.

The Asian Student Association was founded to advocate and raise awareness for the normalized racism and xenophobia against the AAPI community.

“We strive to create an environment where Asian student can feel not only accepted by understood by other peers,” stated the mission statement. “We hope that students of all ethnic backgrounds will foster a greater understanding and appreciation of Asian culture, and learn to cultivate pride with their own culture in a world that scorns and erases differences.”
