FRAMINGHAM – Nancy (Gould) Baldwin, age 95, died on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Manor in Framingham.

 Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Wilmot and Anna (Bailey) Gould.

 Nancy was the devoted wife of the late Elliott N. Baldwin, to whom she shared 63 years of marriage.

 She lived in Framingham for 62 years.

Nancy graduated from Gettysburg College in 1949. In college Nancy was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She wrote a column for the school paper and sang in the college choir.

She worked for Bell Telephone Co. as a service representative before she began her teaching career in Johnstown and later in Framingham where she taught English at Framingham South High for26 years; many of which, team teaching with her closet friend, Marion M. Goodman. 

Also, during her time at South High, she was the faculty advisor for the Student Crier, the school paper which won numerous awards under her tutelage.

She was a member of the Plymouth Church of Framingham where she sang in the choir for over 50 years. She also sang and traveled to Spain with the Masterworks Chorale.

She was a member and past officer of the Framingham Garden Club, played golf in the Millwood Ladies’ League, and was an avid duplicate bridge player.

She leaves a son Elliott N. Baldwin Ill and his wife Amy of Picayune, MS and a sister, Wilma ‘Jiji’ Davis of Pittsburgh, PA.  In addition to her son and sister those left behind to cherish her memory include, son-in-law Edward Baia and his wife Rosemary of NH, daughter-in-law Ester C. Baldwin of FL, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Nancy was the beloved mother of the late Anne Baia and loving sister to the late James W. Gould and Harriet Mertz.

Nancy will be missed for her biting wit and her all-encompassing hugs. She loved teaching and helping young people to succeed. A life well lived. A+

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her memorial service on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road at Framingham Ctr.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
