1 Framingham Democratic Committee holding an emergency meeting tonight, but it is closed to the public.

The meeting comes after the Committee’s chair has come under fire for statements he made at a City Council meeting and a 4-page letter he wrote to the full City Council on Framingham Democratic Committee letterhead.

  • Lecture A Divided Nation? What Abraham Lincoln Can Teach Us About Political Divisions at 7 p.m. at the main Framingham Library. American society has faced many moments of political and social division, and our present politics seems especially divided—so much so that some even use the phrase “a second civil war” to characterize the depth of our disagreements.  The lecture will examine how one American political thinker, Abraham Lincoln, wrestled with the political divisions of his time, and what we can learn from his experience about resolving these divisions in our time.
