FRAMINGHAM – A small electrical fire at Framingham High School this morning, February 13, forced the evacuation of one wing and a stay in place for the rest of the school.

“Around 9:30am there was a small electrical fire started by a cell phone in a classroom in D hall,” wrote Interim Principal Amy Gerade.

“Staff immediately responded and used a fire extinguisher to put it out. The fire department was immediately contacted,” said the Framingham High principal.

“All students in the classroom were evacuated and checked by medical. No injuries occurred,” said Principal Gerade.

“Additionally all classrooms in D-hall were evacuated as an extra precautionary measure,” said the Principal.

Framingham High administration issued a stay in place for the entire school as the fire department addressed the safety needs of the building. We resumed normal operations of the building at approximately 10:10am,” wrote the Principal in an email to families.
