FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys swim & dive team finished in eighth place at the MIAA South Sectional meet over the weekend.

The Flyers medley relay team finished in seventh place in a time of 1:43.48 minutes. Swimmers were sophomore Samuel Shi, sophomore Brandon Liu, sophomore Ethan Lu and senior Ethan Pham. Xaverian swimmers won the event in 1:36.34 minutes.

Framingham diver Douglas Burke finished 7th overall. with 289.35 points.

Framingham placed a trio of swimmers in the top 20 in the 50-yard freestyle event, but only the top 16 swimmers earn points for their team.

Boston College High swimmer David Topi won the event in 21.76 seconds.

Framingham’s Liu finished in fifth place in 22.45 seconds. Flyer Lu finished 10th in 22.88 seconds. Pham finished 19th in 23.46 seconds.

Flyers senior Pham finished 17th in the 100-yard freestyle event, just out of the points, at 51.88 seconds.

Lu finished 6th in the distance event. His time in the 500-yard freestyle was 5:02.86 minutes.

Xaverian sophomore William Mulgrew won the event in 4:48.79 minutes.

Liu finished 5th in the 100-yard breaststroke event. His time was 1:00.32 minutes.

Swimmers from Boston College High finished first & second in the event.

The Flyers finished sixth in the 400-yard freestyle relay. Swimmers were Pham, Lu, sophomore Samuel Shi, and Liu.
