FRAMINGHAM – Maria Celsa Lopez (Martinez), 83, of Framingham, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 14, 2023.

She was born on April 29, 1939 to Romulo Cortez and Rosa Martinez in El Paraiso, El Salvador.

Maria Celsa was married to the late Jose Napoleon Lopez in 1959. She is survived by her children: Vilma Martinez (Ernesto), Jose Dagoberto Martinez, Sonia Hernandez (Luciano), Jose Napoleon Lopez, Miguel Lopez (Janet), Freddy Lopez (Dinora), Theresa Lopez (Fredy), Nelly Lopez (Marcos), and Irving Avelar (Alma). In addition to her children, her legacy lives on through a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many loved family members and friends. Maria Celsa was predeceased by her loving husband in 2005 and her grandsons, Jeovanni Lopez (2007) and Anthony Ortega (2019).

Her family was her pride and joy, the success story of her life. With a zest for life and a witty personality, she kept her family on their toes and laughing even past her death. She loved listening and dancing along to music.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Church, Concord Street, Framingham.

Burial will follow at Saint Stephens Cemetery, Fenwick Street, Framingham.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2 to 6 p.m. atĀ Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services, 318 Union Ave., Framingham, MA 01702.
