The son of the late Edward (Skip) and June Hurst, born and raised in Natick.
He attended Natick schools graduating class of 1972, he then went on to study at Quinsigamond College and graduated with his bachelors from Framingham State College.
He served as a police officer in Nashua New Hampshire and Wellesley College.
He resigned from the police force to focus full time on his own landscaping and snowplowing company, Arthur Hurst Inc., which he ran successfully for 40 years until his retirement in 2021.
He also was the manager of the Natick Lodge of Elks, where he was a lifelong member.
In his free time, he loved to do word search puzzles, go on walks to talk with all the neighbors and his many friends. He was delighted to volunteer at local town events and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Arthur was a beloved father, grandfather, devoted husband and caring friend. He cherished spending time with his closely knit family whether it be for a Sunday dinner or a simple ride around town. He is survived by his wife Shelley, daughters Ashley and Stephanie, her husband Justin, grandson Ethan, his brother Richard and family, also his Uncle William (Bill) Tozer and family of Idaho.
At the family’s request there will be no funeral or memorial services, the best way to remember and honor Arthur is to become an organ donor. He was grateful to be a recipient of organ donation and hopes others will grant the same opportunities to those in need. He will be missed by all
