1 Due to New Year’s Day holiday, curbside trash collection is on a one-day delayed collection for the rest of the week. Which means if you normally put your barrels out on Wednesday morning, they should go out Thursday morning.

Christmas tree curbside collection will take place next week.

2. Today, Framingham will be represented by four state representatives. Under redistricting, Framingham gained a new seat. State Rep. Carmine Gentile will no longer represent Framingham.

The senior member of the four-person delegation will be State Rep. Danielle Gregoire, a Democrat who lives in Marlborough. She will represent several precincts in North Framingham. Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis, a Democrat, was unchallenged for his 7th Middlesex District seat. School Committee Chair Priscila Sousa was on the 6th Middlesex District seat, which was newly carved by the legislature to represent most of South Framingham. Westborough resident Kate Donoghue will represent a sub-precinct of West Framingham. All four will be sworn in for a 2-year term today at the Massachusetts State House.

Senate President Karen Spilka, a Democrat from Ashland, is expected to be re-elected to her Senate President position for another term this morning.

The Massachusetts House of Representatives will vote on its leadership this morning too.

The swearing in ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Massachusetts State House with Gov. Charlie Baker swearing in the legislature.
