FRAMINGHAM _ The Framingham High girls basketball team won its opening round game in the Framingham Holiday Hoopla to advance to the finals on Thursday, December 29.

Framingham defeated King Philip Regional High 71-34.

The finals will be at Framingham High at 2 p.m. today, December 29, against Chicopee High.

It was a “great 4 quarters of basketball for the Flyers,” said Head Coach Kristen Fucarile. “King Philip took the lead 11-10 at the end of the first quarter. We then had an explosive second quarter and took a 28-17 going into the half.”

Coach Fucarile said the Flyers “stuck to the game plan and didn’t cut any corners.”

She said her “very disciplined” squad was “rewarded with a 71-34 victory and a trip to the Championship game.”

Co-captain Katie Regan led the Flyers with 17 points and 11 rebounds

Allie Regan had 12 points, with Caroline Galvani had 11 points. Grace Hanna also scored 11 points

Senior co-captain Selina Monestime had 9 points, 7 steals and 5 assists in the victory.
