HOLDEN – Wachusett Regional High School defeated Framingham High last night 77-56.

Wachusett remains undefeated and the Flyers drop to 3-2 overall.

“First quarter we came out extremely prepared and strong,” said head Coach Kristen Fucarile.

It was 17-11 going into the second quarter, said the Flyers head coach.

“We absolutely took the first punch and seemed to be setting the pace,” said Fucarile.

“Second quarter Wachusett clawed back to take a 33-28 lead going into half time,”said the Flyers head coach.

“We went back and forth, keeping the distance between each other by 5 points,” said Fucarile until 6 minutes into the fourth quarter.

“We let the game slip away. We got in some unfortunate foul trouble and Wachusett took advantage of it,” said Coach Fucarile. “We knew they were a strong and disciplined team.”

Senior captain Selina Monestime scored 18 points in the loss. Senior Captain Katie Regan had 13 points and Caroline Galvani had a dozen points.

The Flyers are on the road for their next game on Wednesday at King Philip Regional High at 7 p.m.
