FRAMINGHAM – Four different Wheaton College soccer players scored goals en route to a 5-0 win over Framingham State in non-conference action Tuesday afternoon.  

Framingham State falls to 10-5-2 overall.

Wheaton College improves to 7-4-6 overall.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • The Lyons opened up scoring in the 7th minute when Alasdair Ferrier finished off a pass from Charlie Stringer for the early 1-0 lead.  
  • The Rams kept the Lyons off the board until Max Strong chipped in a headed pass off a long throw in to go up 2-0.  
  • Max Strong scored again and beat a crashing Rams keeper after a long through ball from Joey Everett to take a 3-0 lead in the 67th minute.  
  • Angus Stringer and Lucas Goettel converted later in the game to reach the final margin.

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

  • Chris Housel and Micharl O’Gara earned the shutout for the Lyons. 
  • Joseph Sturzo made seven saves in the loss for the Rams.  
  • Wheaton outshot the hosts 22-to-7 in the game including a 13-to-1 clip in the first half.  
  • Gabriel Padilla led the Rams with two shots, one of which was on target.   

UP NEXT: 

The Rams return to action on Saturday when they close out the regular season with a MASCAC clash with Fitchburg State.

The Lyons wrap up NEWMAC play on Saturday at 2 p.m. when they travel to Clark.
