FRAMINGHAM – Framingham High boys soccer and Lexington High battled to a 1-1 tie at Fuller Middle’s turf field on a crisp October afternoon.

The non-league game was scoreless through the first half, but in the second half Lexington got on the board when Pieter Bultman scored.

Coach Jon Wood described the goal as a “disappointing defensive lapse in the box on a Lexington restart.”

But the Flyers fought back and scored in a restart of their own.

Senior defender Dhiego Miranda took a free kick from 40 yards out and beat the goalie in the upper right corner, to tie the game.

Senior captain Ben Sharon and senior captain Tyler Knox led the defense in a really inspired and energetic effort.

It was a “well-played game by two of the best teams in Eastern Massachusetts,” said Coach Wood.

The Flyers are now 6-1-2, under head coach Dan Avery.

Framingham has an away game against Boston Latin on Monday, October 3 at 4 p.m.
