WAYLAND – The Framingham High girls swim & dive team held its first “home” meet of the season on Saturday afternoon, September 24.

The outdoor swim meet was held at the Wayland community pool, as Framingham no longer has access to the Keefe Technical’s swim pool, due to needed repairs.

The Raiders of Wellesley High, whose team was almost triple the size of Framingham, won the meet 95-80.

Framingham is now 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the Bay State Conference.

Next up for the Flyers is a meet against Notre Dame Academy of Hingham in Duxbury at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28.

Wellesley finished 1-2 in the diving competition. Kat Barry was the best Framingham diver finishing third overall.

Wellesley opened the swimming competition finishing 1-2 in the medley relay.

Framingham swimmers Marie Scanlon, Bella Bowen, Andrea Ledesma, and Amy DiPasquale took third in the relay.

Sasha Tsizer finished second in the 200-yard freestyle for Framingham.

Wellesley’s Katie Passanisi won the event in 2:11.36 minutes. Flyer Emma Angelo took fourth place.

Wellesley swept the individual medley taking first, second, and third place.

Marie Scanlon finished second in the 50-yard freestyle. Wellesley’s Elena Dudkina won the sprint event in 26.74 seconds.

Scanlon also finished a strong third in the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:15.95 minutes. Wellesley took first and second in that event.

Tsizer captured third place in the 100-yard freestyle for Framingham.

Wellesley’s Anna McGrew won the event in 57.81 second, with her Raider teammate Sofia Cozza second in 1:00.02 minutes.

Wellesley swept the 500-yard freestyle event. Framingham’s best distance swimmer on Saturday was Meaghan May in fourth place at 6:43.48 minutes.

The Raiders finished 1-2 in the 200-yard relay.

Framingham swimmers Tsizer, Angelo, DiPasquale, and Bella Bowen took third place.

Wellesley’s Passanisi won the backstroke in 1:09.82.

Framingham’s best backstroker on Saturday was Ledesma in 1:14.46 minutes.
