BOSTON – The National Weather Service out of Boston/Norton has issued a special weather statement for MetroWest due to a strong line of thunderstorms.

At 802 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Palmer to Rocky Hill.

Movement was east at 50 mph.

Winds up to 40 mph.

Strong winds could cause minor damage such as downed branches. Heavy rain may cause minor flooding. Strong thunderstorms will be near…

Do not drive through flooded roads or underpasses. Avoid low lying areas near small streams. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. For your safety, go indoors or to your vehicle.
