FRAMINGHAM – The Eastern Connecticut men’s soccer team defeated Framingham State by a score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field.  

Framingham State is now 1-2-1 this season.

Eastern Connecticut is now 1-1-2

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Warriors got on the board in the 7th minute when Larson Richards sent a long pass spanning about 40 yards that was settled by an open Logan Brennan who finished it off for the 1-0 lead.  
  • In the 25th minute Ryan Sirois scored off an assist from Walter Scudder to take a 2-0 lead. Just over a minute later the Warriors again scored when Logan Brennan scored with a helper from Cayden Boukus.

  • Bryce Nardizzi got the Rams on the Rams on the board in the first minute of the second when he sent in a strike from a sharp angle that deflected off a Warriors defender and into the open net.  
  • The Warriors scored again in the 74th minute when Sirois scored his second of the game after a pass from Ryan Toomey to reach the final margin.  

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • Joseph Sturzo started in goal for the Rams before giving way to Jake Hartshorn who made four saves in net for the hosts.  
  • Nathan Yeick made ten saves to earn the win for Eastern Connecticut State. 
  • The Rams outshot the visitors 27-to-17 and have 8 corner kick opportunities to the Warriors three.  

The Rams return to action on Tuesday when they host Suffolk at 4:30. The Warriors head to Mitchell for non-conference action Wednesday.
