FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State women’s soccer team has been predicted to finish fifth in the 2022 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) preseason poll selected by the eight coaches from around the league 

The Rams earned the 4thseed in MASCAC Tournament in 2021 posting a 3-4 mark in league play and an overall record of 5-12-2.

Returning for the Rams is 2021 leading scorer Calen Frongillo who scored a team best five goals and 12 points.

Joining Frongillo back on the 2022 squad is sophomore Jetta Oskirko who made a team best 106 saves in net during her freshman campaign. 

The 2021 MASCAC Regular Season and Tournament Champions Westfield State landed in first with seven of eight possible first place votes for 49 points in this year’s poll. In the second spot is Bridgewater spot who collected 41 points and the other first place vote.

Worcester State slides in the third spot with 39 points followed by Salem State with 28.

After the Rams in fifth place, Fitchburg State and their 20 points finished sixth. MCLA and Mass. Maritime round out the poll with 12 and 8 points, respectively.  

The Rams open up their 2022 season on Thursday, September 1, when they host Roger Williams for non-conference match slated for 4:30 p.m.
