FRAMINGHAM – The Little East Conference has released its 2022 Field Hockey Preseason Poll as voted on by the coaches throughout the league. The Framingham State squad has been predicted to finish 13th.  

The Rams earned the finished 4-13 and 1-11 in league play in 2022 despite suffering eight, one goal losses, including four in overtime. Key returners for the Rams are their two leading scorers from 2021.

Junior Corlene Guenard led the Rams with 16 points on four goals and eight assists while classmate Isabella Kondi registered 13 points on four goals and five helpers.

Keene State finished first in the voting receiving 134 total points and six first place votes followed closely by Eastern Connecticut who received 132 total points and five first place votes. Worcester State picked up the final two first place nods totaling 122 points while USM finished fourth with 117 points.

Westfield and Plymouth State came in fifth and sixth while Castleton and Western Connecticut slid in at seven and eight to round out the predicted playoff field. 

The Rams, who are playing their final season in the Little East, open up their 2022 season on Thursday, September 1, when they travel to Wellesley College for a 7 p.m. non-conference matchup.
