FRAMINGHAM – Lawrence E. Rudolph, 91, of Norton, formerly a longtime resident of Framingham, died Thursday, August 25, 2022 after a period of declining health. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Everett & Ruth Rudolph, and the beloved husband of the late Alice M. (Carney) Rudolph.
Larry was raised and educated in Medford and married his high school sweetheart Alice, and soon after moved to Charlestown. He served his country in the US Air Force, and was discharged honorably to be home with his growing family. Larry and Alice moved their family to Framingham soon after, then together they would raise 7 children. He enjoyed an almost 40 year career with PIE Trucking.
Funny, and always cracking a joke, Larry enjoyed bowling and won many trophies competing in truck rodeos.
Larry was the best dad to: Lawrence Jr. & his wife Denise of Millbury, Robert & his wife Tobey of FL, Donna and her partner Carolyn Machado of Framingham, Janice Howerton & her husband Kenneth of GA, and Kelly Felzmann & her husband Frank of Bellingham, was also predeceased by two sons, John Rudolph and Stephen Rudolph, loving companion to Judith Thatcher of Norton, most amazing grandfather to 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, dear father in law to Linda Rudolph of Northborough.
He is also survived by his sisters, Judith Rudolph of NH, and Sandra Pottle of NH, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and two sons, he is also predeceased by his brothers Everett Rudolph, Kenneth Rudolph, Arthur Rudolph, Gerald Rudolph, Earle Rudolph and sister Evelyn Rudolph.
Family and friends will honor and remember Larry’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Tuesday, August 30 from 4-8 p.m.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning in St. Stephen Church, 221 Concord St. Framingham at 10 o’clock. Please do not park in the church, all parking for the morning will be at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in St. Stephen Cemetery in Framingham.
