FRAMINGHAM — A man suffered a “partial amputation’ of his arm after an incident at the National Guard Armory in Framingham on Saturday.

Framingham Fire engine 5, Ambulance 1 and Car 2 responded to 522 Concord Street at 11:54 a.m. said Framingham Deputy Chief Jose Lopez.

The man, 22, suffered a serious left arm injury, said Deputy Chief Lopez.

When firefighters and EMT’s arrived, a tourniquet had already been applied, said the Deputy Fire Chief.

The scanner had the arm as partially amputated.

A medical helicopter was request originally, said the deputy chief.

Instead he was transported by ambulance via a police escort to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, said Deputy Chief Lopez.

Fire Deputy Chief Lopez said he had no other details on the incident.

No one from the U.S. Army Massachusetts National Guard responded to media requests as of publication of this report. The Armory is located on Route 126 in downtown Framingham near the District court house.
