FRAMINGHAM – Gov. Charlie Baker & Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito in Framingham tonight, July 26, for the dedication of the Karen Foran Dempsey Ballroom at Historic Village Hall.

The late Karen Foran Dempsey was the co-founder of the Disability Commission and was a School Committee member when she died in December of 2020.

The ballroom was standing room only for dedication ceremony, in which her husband Mark Dempsey, the City’s ADA coordinator spoke as did the City fo Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky, along with Gov. Baker and Lt. Gov. Polito.

Dempsey was the sister of City Councilor Janet Leombruno who greeted the Governor outside Village Hall with Framingham Disability Commissioner Chair Sheryl Goldstein. Those two organized the event last night, after the Disability Commission voted to name the ballroom after Karen.
