FRAMINGHAM – Yesterday, the U.S. Department of Energy announced former state representative Maria Robinson as the first director of the newly-created Grid Deployment office.

Today, City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky issued a statement.

“I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to Representative Robinson on her new role as Director of
Grid Deployment within the U.S. Department of Energy. While her departure is certainly a loss to
Framingham, and the State House, she will undoubtedly be an asset to President Biden’s administration. I
am grateful for her tenure here in Framingham. Representative Robinson was the first Korean-American
elected to the Massachusetts General Court, where she served as a dedicated public servant and strong
advocate for our City and its residents. It was my pleasure to serve alongside Representative Robinson
over the past several years as a partner in municipal government,” said Mayor Sisitsky.
