1 Today is May 4th. It is a Star Wars movie day for fans. In the Classic ’70s movie, Jedi masters say “May the force be with you.”
Did you know that Margaret Thatcher won the election to become Britain’s first female prime minister on May 4th, 1978. To celebrate her victory, her party took a half-page advertisement in the May 4, 1979, issue of The London Evening News that read, “May the Fourth Be With You, Maggie. Congratulations!”
From that moment on fans began to celebrate May 4th as Star Wars Day.
2. Congresswoman Katherine Clark was in Framingham yesterday for three different events after she landed $1.8 million for 3 projects within the City of Framingham, including the Chris Walsh memorial Aqueduct Trail along Farm Pond. Yesterday, was the anniversary of the death of the late state representative. SOURCE will have reports on the visit later today.
3. Yesterday, District 2 School Committee member Ricky Finlay resigned from his seat.
