FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham elementary school vice principal will leave at the end of this school year to become a principal in Braintree.

Brophy Elementary Vice Principal Caitlin Long will become the new principal at Highlands Elementary School in the Braintree Public School District. She will replace 15-year Principal Nancy Pelletier, who is retiring.

In December 2018, Long was announced as the new vice principal at Brophy Elementary. She started her new role in February 2019.

Long earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Classics from Boston College, a Master of Education in Secondary Education in History from Boston College, and received a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction in Leadership, Policy, and Educational Change at Boston College. 

She came to Brophy with extensive experience working with English Learners in multiple capacities as a teacher in the Everett Public Schools, as a facilitator of professional development, and as a researcher at Boston College. 

Prior to coming to Brophy, Long worked for an organization that provides tailored support services for students.
