HUDSON – Mary E. McGrath, 96, of Hudson and formerly of West Roxbury died Tuesday April 5, 2022 at Carmel Terrace in Framingham.

She was born in Boston, the daughter of the late John L. and Annie J. (Clark) McGrath and was a 1941 graduate of Boston Latin School.

She was an executive secretary for the Boston Fire Department for 50 years.

Mary was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Marlborough.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and the ocean. She was the caregiver for her entire family and was always there when she was needed. Mary was a completely selfless and loving woman.

She leaves nine nieces and nephews, Kathleen, Thomas, Stephen, Mary, David, Mary Ellen, Susan, Janet and John; many grand and great grand nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brothers Leo and John McGrath, her sister Ann T. (McGrath) Demeo, sister-in-law Alice (McCarty) McGrath and brother-in-law Julian Demeo, Jr. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Friday April 8 at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough.

Burial will follow in Holyhood Cemetery, 584 Heath Street, Brookline.

Calling hours will be held Friday prior to the Mass from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the Collins Funeral Home (www.collinsfuneral.com), 378 Lincoln Street, Marlborough.
