Dear Parents and Guardians,We hesitated publicly advertising this letter until after we received a response, we sent the letter on March 13, 2022, to the vice principal and Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Coach of our children’s school, but since we have not received a response here it is.
We feel it is vital for you to read this letter so you can really understand what they are doing to our children’s fragile and impressionable minds. If you agree with what they have begun that is your right, but if you do not then for the future stability of your child/children you should not continue to stay silent. Five things a nation needs to survive: Food, Water, Energy, Security and Education.
Education is vitally important because it shapes everything that will allow our country to succeed and stay strong. With poor education based in social awareness constructs, we will crumble like every other nation before us.
Dear Ms. D’Costa and Ms. Duggar,
Thank you for providing the video link and slide show that was observed by our children on Friday February 18, 2022 at Potter Road School. It is our strong belief that when public schools teach “values” based material(s) it can often lead to confusion if and when said material(s) conflict with what is being taught at home.
It is extremely important to us as parents that the values we teach at home are not being replaced with what is being taught at our public schools. While the material you provided to us in and of itself was okay, it still can lead down a slippery slope when, again, if said materials conflict with what is being taught at home.
Social ideologies have no place in our elementary schools. These are concepts that should be taught, and more importantly discussed, during Ethics and Philosophy classes when the student has the mental capacity to question said lessons in perhaps High School or College.

For the record: We are perfectly okay with school personnel teaching our children to treat others as they would like to be treated, and to show respect to one another. We firmly believe in common sense approaches and understand that kids will need to be spoken to from time to time.
However, when you pull them aside for a school wide video/slide show, this can be misconstrued for ideological indoctrination, and as parents/guardians, we have a right to know what you intend to show them. We as parents/guardians simply want to be made aware of any material(s) being shown to our children that ventures off-of the main educational curriculum and into the “values” realm of life. As parents/guardians, we have the right to exclude our children from viewing or listening to anything that you want to introduce to our children that conflicts with our family values.
Moving forward, please notify all of the parents/guardians via email or text of any materials you plan to show our children that fall outside the educational curriculum so that we may have the option of opting our children out.
This material includes but is not limited to:
Acceptance (Broad term)
Inclusiveness (Broad term)
Gender Dysphoria
Gender Equality
Racial Equality
Racial Justice
Political Stances
Political Biases
Sex related or inappropriate relationship materials not suitable for children
Subjective Opinions on perceived COVID 19 mitigation requirements(i.e.: Mask wearing, Social Distancing & Vaccinations)Subjective Opinions on perceived Environmental Issues (i.e.: “Global Warming”, Environmental Justice, etc)
One final note: Since we strongly believe in offering solutions, and not just bringing up problems, why not teach our children about the United States Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the wonderful Declaration of Independence, which clearly states “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men (People) are created EQUAL, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”
These are the true unifiers of all people, of all types, creeds and backgrounds in the experiment known as America. We do not need to recreate the wheel of acceptance, it was already perfectly created for us.
The importance of these words should be taught/learned by children at the earliest of ages.
