ASHLAND – Guy M. Williams Jr., 81 of Ashland passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and best friend’s children.
Born in Sabattus, Maine, he was the son of the late Guy and Nellie (Bickford) Williams and husband of 42 years to the late Jeanne (Karshis) Williams, who passed in 2012.
High school Valedictorian and Electrical Engineering graduate of UMaine, he spent his career in telecommunications beginning with New England Telephone, and its many iterations, retiring as a marketing manager from Bell Atlantic in 1998.
He was a dedicated husband and father, enthusiastic grandfather, lover of camping, volunteer at church & in town, Army Veteran from ’63-65, jokester, and example of a life well lived.
Mr. Williams is survived by his devoted daughter and son-in-law Erin & Philip Williams of Ashland, grandchildren, Chase and Griffin, beloved cousins the Maineacs, the Camping Family, his in-laws The McLaughlin Clan, and special friend the last 10 years, Gerry Zablatsky.
A funeral service will be celebrated Thursday April 7 at 11 a.n. in the Federated Church of Ashland, 118 Main Street in Ashland.
Guests are encouraged to wear plaid in Guy’s honor.
Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland.
