FRAMINGHAM – Paul F. Donahue, 89, a longtime resident of Framingham, formerly of Worcester, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022 following an extended illness.

He was the beloved husband of the late Catherine (Fanning) Donahue who died in 1978 and the late Margaret (Biggins) Donahue who died in 2020.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late John F. and Mary (O’Neil) Donahue.

Paul graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1954, and worked his entire career in data management at New England Telephone/NYNEX before retiring in 1992.

He was a devoted parishioner, usher, and food pantry volunteer at St. Bridget’s Parish in Framingham, MA for many years.

Paul is survived by his 6 children, John F. Donahue of Williamsburg, VA, Kevin G. Donahue and his wife Marcie of Harvard, Mary D. Kuta and husband Marc of Framingham, Daniel G. Donahue and wife Christie of Southborough, James F. Donahue and Tom Murphy of Bridgewater, and Anne Donahue and husband Greg Meurer of Westwood.

He was incredibly proud of his 13 cherished grandchildren, Catherine Venturi, Jack Donahue, Quentin, Tommy and Wesley Donahue, Erin, Paul and Tim Kuta, Max, Will and Owen Donahue, and Grace and Eve Meurer. He was the loving brother of Robert E. Donahue and his wife Janice of Northborough, MA, and is predeceased by his brother John J. Donahue of Northborough.

Those who loved Paul will remember him for his quiet generosity, his kind soul, and his love for his family. Paul prioritized his loved ones over himself, always, and treated everyone he met with great respect. His ability to move forward with both grace and tenacity, even under the hardest of circumstances, will be a lesson his family will carry with them always. The Red Sox—and the PGA—lost one of their greatest fans in Paul.

The Donahue family would especially like to thank Paul’s incredible caregivers, who each brightened his days and treated Paul with the utmost love and care when he needed it most.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, April 1, 2022  from 4-7 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech Street in Framingham.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday April 2, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 830 Worcester Road (Rt. 9)

Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Worcester.

Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, www.dana-farber.org
