MARLBOROUGH – Robert “Bob” J. March, Sr., 81, of Marlborough, died peacefully in the presence of his family after a short illness on February 15, 2022, at Marlborough Hospital.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Elaine J. (Lucason) March, his daughter, Lisa M. Walsh, and her husband Timothy S. Walsh of Marlborough, his son and namesake Robert J. March, Jr. and his wife Deidre Flanagan of Ventura, CA, and his beloved grandchildren, James A. Walsh of Brighton MA, and Katherine H. Walsh of Somerville MA.  He is also survived by his brother Bart March and his sister Eleanor Carmody, and many cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Marion Racicot and his brother Richard March.

Bob was born in Worcester, on April 19, 1940, to the late Bartholomew and Marion (Jurgelionis) March. He attended Worcester schools and graduated from Worcester Boys’ Trade High School.

He was employed as a machinist at Wyman Gordon Company in Worcester, and then Digital Equipment Corporation. 

He retired from ASA International in Framingham as a facility manager.

In his retirement, he made many friends working part-time at the deli in the Hudson Stop & Shop.

Bob will be remembered as a friend to all he met. He loved gardening, fishing, trips to Eastham & his dog Gracie.

According to Bob’s wishes, please omit flowers, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s name may be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, 151 Boston Post Rd., Sudbury, MA 01776

Services for Bob will be private.
