FRAMINGHAM – Framingham School Committee unanimously approved the 2022-23 school calendar Wednesday night, February 16.
The only item not approved on the calendar was the date of graduation for the Class of 2023.
For the Class of 2022 graduation is moving to a Friday night, from its traditional Sunday afternoon ceremony. The Superintendent had recommended to see how the new format worked before placing a Friday night graduation on the calendar for the Class of 2023.
“We have maintained a format that is consistent with the current school year, including an identification of major religious and cultural holidays, as well as professional development, no school, election, and no homework days. The district logo, colors and fonts have been updated to align with district branding. This calendar takes into consideration the many factors that impact the final version of the academic year, including contractual obligations, student learning time requirements, school day requirements, parent conferences, and professional development needs. Each of these factors were weighed carefully in collaboration with the Office of Teaching and Learning. The calendar has been reviewed by the Framingham Teachers Association leadership,” wrote Supt. Tremblay to the School Committee in a memo on January 27.
