FRAMINGHAM – Sister Mary Catherine Malone, CSJ, (Sister Gerard), in her 74th year as a beloved member of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, died on Monday, February 7, 2022. 

Devoted daughter of the late Patrick and Katharine (McCloskey) Malone, and loving sister of the late Evelyn Morin, Dorothy Cahill, Maynard Malone, Joseph Gerard Malone, Sister Mildred Malone, CSJ (Sister John Berchmans), Bernice Malone, and John Malone.  Sister Mary is survived by her sister, Sister Patricia Malone, CSJ (Sister Katherine Patricia) along with many cherished nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, and her Sisters in the Congregation. 

Formerly missioned as a teacher at St. Ann School, Neponset; Gate of Heaven School, South Boston; Cardinal Spellman High School, Brockton; Mt. St. Joseph Academy, Brighton; St. James High School, Haverhill; and Keith Hall, Lowell; and Guidance Counsellor at Our Lady Help of Christians School; Newton. 

Sister Mary also served as Director of Religious Education at St. James Parish, Haverhill; St. Lucy Parish, Methuen; St. Ann Parish, Hampstead, NH; Immaculate Conception Parish, Concord, NH; Mary, and Mother of the Church, Newton, NH.

COVID Protocols must be observed (Mask mandate).

Visiting hours at Holy Family Chapel, Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse, 631 Cambridge Street, Brighton, MA, 9:15 to 10 a.m. Prayer Service at 10 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass and Prayers of Final Commendation at the Motherhouse at 10:15 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, 180 Pond Street, Natick, MA. 

Arrangements by Norton Funeral Home, Framingham.
