FRAMINGHAM – The Christa McAuliffe Charter School reported a total of 5 positive COVID cases between January 27 and February 2, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE). All of the cases this week were students.

The previous week, there were 25 cases of which 23 were students.

The grade 6-7-8 middle school is a regional public school located in Framingham.

The state requires the schools to report COVID positive students and staff.

The City of Framingham saw a surge in COVID cases since Halloween, and it only got worse in January.

Mayor Charlie Sisitsky ordered a mask mandate starting January 19.
