FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham High boys swim and dive team had a victory against Newton North High Wednesday night, January 19 at the Keefe Technical High School’s pool.

The Flyers defeated the Tigers 91 to 81.

Diving opened the meet with Framingham’s Junior Douglas Burke winning the event with 182.55 points.

Framingham won all 3 relay events.

The swimming kicked off with the 200-yard medley relay with swimmers Bryce Casey, Brandon Liu, Edward Gao and Brendan Treacy won the event.

In the 200-yard freestyle relay swimmers Liu , Gao, JJ Dupcak, and Ethan Lu touched the wall first.

And in the 400-yard freestyle relay Flyers swimmers Dupcak, Lu, Ethan Pham, Sam Shi won.

Framingham freshman Lu won the 200-yard freestyle with JJ Dupcak close behind, qualifying both swimmers for sectionals.

Junior Gao won his first of two individual events in the 200-yard individual medley. Framingham freshman Shi took second for the Flyers.

Freshman Liu won his first of two individual events in the 100-yard freestyle. Framingham freshman Yonathan Kimyagarov finished third for Framingham.

Framingham’s Gao won the 100-yard butterfly for the Flyers qualifying for sectionals. Matthew Mazariegos finished third for Framingham with Josh Pearce fourth for the Flyers.

Framingham finished 1-2-3 in the 500-yard freestyle event. Dupcak won the event with Lu in second and freshman Nicolas Swan in third.

Senior Casey won the 100-yard backstroke with a time qualifying him for sectionals.

Next up for the Flyers is the Senior Meet against Natick High School at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 21 at Keefe Tech Pool.
