FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham reported 1,957 new COVID cases over the last 7 days.

This was the highest number of cases since the issuance of a vaccine for the coronavirus.

Last week, the City announced 1,300-plus cases.

The City of Framingham reported more than 1,900 new COVID cases in the last 7 days and more than 3,300 cases in the last 14 days.

The City of Framingham says it has 3,331 active COVID cases right now, January 12.

Since the pandemic began, 14,375 residents have tested positive for the virus.

That means about 20% of the City of Framingham or roughly one out of every 5 have been diagnosed with COVID.

There have been 259 fatalities  due to COVID in Framingham since 2020.

Despite the new numbers, the Mayor and the Superintendent announced the 2-week pause on indoor group activities will be reduced to a one-week pause, beginning on Friday, January 14.
