FRAMINGHAM – Police officers arrested a Milford man on a drunk driving charge on New Year’s Day at 3 a.m.

“An officer observed motor vehicle violations and conducted a stop,’ said Framingham Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens. After a brief investigation, it was determined the driver to be operating under the influence of alcohol, said Lt. Mickens.

Arrested at Bishop and Clinton streets on January 1 at 3:21 a.m. was Jurandir Maia, 40, of 59 Hayward Street of Milford.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, a stop sign/red light violation, and failure to drive in the right lane.
