FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Public Schools reported 20 new COVID cases on Thursday, December 23, the last day before the winter break.

There have been 111 new cases this week.

Most of the cases have been at Framingham High.

There were 19 cases on Monday reported and 19 cases again reported on Tuesday, and 16 cases on Wednesday, but just 5 cases on Thursday, Dec. 23.

In total, there were 50 cases reported at the high school this week.

It is unknown if the cases at Framingham high are all students, staff, or a combination of both. The district does not separate that number.

The district said it was seeing a “surge” in cases since the Thanksgiving break.

There have been 158 new cases of COVID at Framingham High since the Thanksgiving break, and 409 total cases in the district since November 28.

Since the start of the school year, there have now been 590 cases.

Besides the 5 cases at Framingham High, there were 3 cases at Potter Road Elementary.

There were two cases reported at Barbieri, Harmony Grove and Fuller Middle.

There was one case reported at the following schools: Brophy, King, McCarthy & Stapleton.

Framingham High has had the most cases of any school at 187 cases.

There are more than 2,500 students at Framingham High School plus staff.

Harmony Grove is second with 44 cases and Potter Road with 43 cases.

Barbieri has had 40 cases.

The Farley Administration Building has reported a total 17 cases this 2021-2022 school year

Brophy has had the fewest cases this school year at 11.
