FRAMINGHAM – Catherine Alexander, aged 78 passed away peacefully at her home after a brief, courageous battle with a rare blood cancer on December 12, 2021 in Framingham, Massachusetts. She was surrounded by her deeply devoted and loving immediate family.

Catherine was born December 14, 1942, in Cypress, Florida to the late Vick and Eliza Brown.

After graduating from Jackson County Technical School in Marianna, Florida with honors in 1961, she attended college in Jacksonville, Florida and by 1964 made her way to New York City.

In March 1967 she married Noval Alexander in Queens, New York.

Following a career promotion at Bell & Howell Boston Branch for her husband in the summer of 1969; the couple moved to Framingham, Massachusetts and by October, their only child and son Noval Jr was born.

In 1975 Catherine and her son Noval relocated to Long Island, New York where she trained to become a Travel Agent. With a budding reputation as a tenacious businesswoman Catherine became simply known to her many friends and acquaintances in New York as “Cathy”.

Within a short time and with hard work and many prayers; Cathy boldly ventured out on her own to open her own travel agency aptly named Alexander Tours in Downtown Framingham in 1985.

In a few short years Cathy and her business developed a reputation for being benevolent and compassionate toward people in the community that needed airline tickets on loan for family emergencies.

Following the September 11th attacks the travel industry went into sharp decline and eventually she closed her doors in 2003.

Cathy quickly adjusted and went into the home helper care industry and worked as a companion for elderly and mobility impaired people in Framingham and surrounding communities.
