FRAMINGHAM – Gerard O. Turcotte, 72, of Marlborough, formerly of Framingham, died Thursday December 9, 2021, from respiratory failure, due to complications of COVID-19.
Born in Woonsocket, RI, he was the son of the late Arthur & Stella (Cournoyer) Turcotte, and the loving husband of Evelyn Margaret (George) Turcotte.
Gerry was raised and educated in Woonsocket. Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army, serving his country proudly during Vietnam.
He went on to work in the flooring industry for many years, before marrying his wife, Evelyn George, in 1975. After several moves, they settled in Framingham, where they raised their daughter, Kimberly Margaret.
During this time, Gerry established his career as a kitchen designer. He designed for Grossman’s and Home Depot, before finding his second family at The Corner Cabinet in Framingham, where he remained until retirement in 2017.
Upon retirement, he and his wife began a new chapter, moving to Marlborough.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Evelyn, his daughter Kimberly, her husband Robert Laurie and their four girls, Sienna Margaret, Stella Olivia, Emily Louise, and Ivy Mae of Southborough, MA, his brother Roger and sister in-law Lois of Sandwich MA, his sister Helene Flynn of Bartlett TN, and many loved nieces and nephews.
Gerry’s smile and laugh were infectious. He was the ultimate handyman, always helping family and friends, from painting to carpentry, to plumbing or tiling, he was ready for any task. He was a sports fan through and through and loved watching the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots. His love for his daughter and granddaughters was immeasurable, never missing any of their games, birthday celebrations, or milestones. There was nothing that gave him more joy in life than spending time with his family and friends. He will be immensely missed and forever in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.
Arrangements by the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home of Framingham.
