FRAMINGHAM – Russell William Currie of Framingham, died suddenly at home on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at age 61.    

Russ is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Barbara Wellington Currie, and his loving family.

Russ was born in Boston to Mary Elizabeth Currie and Donald Vincent Currie. 

Russ graduated from Nashoba Regional High School and built a career he loved in technology, working with Digital Equipment Corp, Xyplex, Fidelity Investments, and NetScout Systems, where he was Vice President of Enterprise Strategy. 

Russ was a joyful presence, loved for his humor, intelligence, creativity, kindness, and generosity.   Russ was passionate about all his interests:  he loved traveling with Barbara; he loved being home; he loved being with family; he loved working; he loved riding his Harley Davidson; he loved the New England Patriots.    

Russ influenced all around him with his eclectic taste in music. He loved attending concerts and introducing new and sometimes obscure bands to friends and family.       

Russ was preceded in death by his father Donald Vincent Currie and is survived by his wife Barbara; his mother, Mary Elizabeth (McMakin) Currie; his sisters Pamela Currie Nashawaty and Caroline Currie Sharma and her husband Nick; his brother Brad; his brothers-in-law Larry Wellington and his wife Nicolette, and Bill Wellington; his nieces Anne Dixon, Elizabeth  Mason, Lily Holderby, Margaret Olsen, Rachel  Sharma, Sophie Wellington; his nephew Neil  Sharma; his great-nieces Allison Dixon, Katherine Mason, and Susanna Dixon; and his great-nephew Ryan Mason.

Russ was a true friend to many.   

The family will host a celebration of his life in early 2022.
