NEWTON – The Flyers and the Tigers scratched out a 1-1 tie in Newton on Tuesday.

The Framingham High boys varsity soccer team tied Newton North on the road on election day, in both communities.

The game was a tale of two halves as Newton North controlled the first half and the Flyers were the better team in the second half.

The Framingham goal was scored by senior midfielder Kaio Viegas on a shot from the left side, said coach Jon Wood.

Viegas played a great game both offensively and defensively, said Coach Wood.

In addition to Viegas, sophomore Ben Dionisio and junior Gilberto Morales played very strong games, he said.

The Flyers visit Concord-Carlisle on Friday afternoon in a non-league matchup.

Framingham is now 2-0-1, under head coach Dan Avery.
