BOSTON – The Framingham State University women’s cross country team returned to racing this afternoon after the cancelled 2020 season and placed 8th at the Suffolk Short Course Classic at Franklin Park this afternoon, September 3.

  • The Rams were paced by freshman Leah Chace (East Greenwich, RI) who completed the 3K course in a time of 13:40, which placed her 46th.
  • Freshman Gwen Madden (Raynham) followed next for the Rams with a time of 13:59, while classmate Camille Carvalho (Spencer) was next at 14:27.

  • The trio of junior Kammarie Pelland (Fitchburg.), sophomore Elizabeth Dykstra (Sutton) and junior Emily Newcomb (Raynham) closed out the top six for the Rams. Pelland and Dykstra crossed side by side at 14:52, while Newcomb was eight seconds behind at 15:00.

UP NEXT: The Rams are back in action in two weeks at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
