  1. Mosquito Spraying in the City Today: East Middlesex Mosquito Control Project to spray “Reduced-risk Pesticide” to Control Mosquito Populations in the City Today (August 30). The spraying is scheduled for neighborhoods of Framingham that are located south of Waverly Street near Fay Road, Bethany Road, Winthrop Street, Hollis Street, Irving Street, Bates Road, and streets in the vicinity of Hickory Hill Lane and Jodie Road.
  2. Heads Up – Kids Back in School this Week (Grades 1-12 -September 1 and Kindergarten – September 2): Pay particular attention as there will be additional traffic and more young pedestrians as Framingham students return to school this week. Welcome Back!
  3. Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing Begins Wednesday: The Framingham Department of Public Works will begin conducting Sanitary Sewer Smoke Testing Wednesday, September 1, to investigate sources of rainwater and groundwater (inflow and infiltration) that are entering the sanitary sewer system.
  4. Have an Old Mattress or Dishwasher You Want to Get Rid Of?: The City can help! You can schedule and pay for a curbside bulky item pickup online. Or, residents with a valid Recycling Drop-off Center permit can pay and drop items off, Thursday-Saturday, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., or Sunday, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Bulky items include box springs, metal desks, metal tables, dryers, riding lawnmowers (please make sure oil and gas are removed), ladders, dryers, snow blowers, stoves, swing sets, washers, water heaters, tires, chairs, ottomans, tables, wooden desks, couches, loveseats, bureaus, wooden bed frames, and more. There is a cost associated with curbside collection or drop-off. Please Note: This service is only available for residents of 1 to 4-family dwellings and approved condominium.
