NORTON – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a Flash Flood Warning for MetroWest until 1:45 p.m.

Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area.

Torrential rainfall moving into the warned area had produced several areas of urban flooding and road closures in the Worcester area.

Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen from Tropical Storm Fred.

The expected rainfall rate is 1.5 inches in 1 hour.

Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

Do not drive through the intersection of Route 9 and Route 126 in Framingham.

Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
